Jazz Soup at Lydia’s Café with the Nico Soffiato Duo and more

Lydia’s Café’s Jazz Soup, tasty jazz and soups featuring seafood gumbo, 7-10 p.m. Saturdays, at the café, 7 Old US Route 209, Stone Ridge. The next Jazz Soup session includes the Nico Soffiato Duo with Soffiato on guitar and Dean Sharp on drums on May 4, (closed on May 11), Jimmy Madison & Friends with Madison on drums, Tim Regusis, piano, Tarik Shah, bass, and Awan Rashad, saxophone on May 18, and the John Bruschini Quartet with Bruschini on guitar, John Mulkerin, trumpet, Rich Mollin, bass, and Chris Bowman, drums on May 25.

There will be two soups (one of which is their signature seafood gumbo), a build your own salad, homemade desserts and an occasional surprise, all on a self-serve basis. The patio will be open for quiet conversation and the music will be indoors.

The musical format is mainly jazz, with an occasional Latin, R&B or dance band thrown in to keep everyone confused. No reservations, no cover. There is a suggested donation of $20.
