The Four Agreements, a practice with horses in Kerhonkson

Posted

Hudson Valley HorsePlay will host, “The Four Agreements, a practice with horses,” 2-4 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at 98 Sherman Road, Kerhonkson. Explore the principles of author and spiritual teacher, Don Miguel Ruiz in concert with the wisdom of horses. Ruiz's best-selling book, “The Four Agreements,” has sold more than 12 million copies in the US alone and been translated into 52 languages. Based on ancient Toltec spiritual beliefs, the agreements intend to help humans thrive in "freedom, happiness and love.”

The Four Agreements are, be impeccable with your word, don't take anything personally, don't make assumptions, and always do your best.

Participants will be guided through observations and interactions with a variety of horses and explore the agreements with discussion and exercises. Facilitators will guide, support, and allow for personalized experiences and a collective activity. There is no riding involved and no horse experience is necessary. The focus is on awareness, self-discovery, and personal growth.

Why horses? Horses are highly attuned prey animals, able to read and respond to even the most subtle of cues. They are present-minded and provide instant, honest feedback. Being curious, playful, and non-judgmental, horses provide an ideal environment for experiential learning.

This program is open to students, ages 14 + with a participating adult and will be held shine or rain (beneath covered arena). For tickets and more information, visit hudsonvalleyhorseplay.com or call owner and operator of Hudson Valley HorsePlay, Cori Nichols, at 845-616-3608.
