The Ulster County Historical Society (UCHS) presents its Fall Sunday Salon Series, Cultural mosaic, stories of arrival, survival, and belonging, a season-long exploration of the waves of people who have come to Ulster County, shaped it, and sometimes moved on. Programs run 2-3:30 p.m. Sundays through Nov. 1, at the historic Bevier House Museum, 2682 Route 209, Marbletown. The fall program schedule includes Woodstock, where the seekers stayed with Richard Heppner, Woodstock Town Historian on Sept. 20; On Hurley Mountain, freedom, land, and the making of a community, Erin von Holdt-Gilbert, Kate Hymes and Robert Sweeney, Sept. 27; Luis Moses Gomez, refugee, merchant, and the oldest Jewish dwelling in North America, Alex Prizgintas, Oct. 4; I've been moved, the social and cultural ripple effects of IBM Kingston, Bruce Whistance, Oct. 11; All-American ruins, mining, migration, and memory in Ulster County's cement industry, Blake Pfeil, Dylan Thuras and Steve Hull-Allen, Oct. 18; and the season finale, Strings across the sea, the dulcimer, immigration, and the music that traveled to America, Hogfiddle Consort, Nov. 1.
